Balanced finishing seasoning

I have ordered this product before directly from Mexico, so I am glad that it is available on Amazon now. This is a very balanced smoked finishing seasoning which can be used in many scenarios. I add it to meat dishes, eggs, potatoes and other vegetables, such as avocados. It has pretty good amount of smokiness, though it feels natural and not overwhelming. Rosemary and garlic add even more flavor and Mexican peppers produces some spicy kick. I would say, it is mild, not overly hot. Please note, that it is coarse salt and you might need a grinder or a mortar to grind it. There are other products produced by the same brand and I hope they will appear on Amazon too.

Natural gourmet smoked seasoning

Ideally balanced richness of taste with a flavor of ripe tomatoes, rosemary, garlic, peppers and a note of an aromatic herb epazote. Great for almost any main dish you cook, be it steaks, fish, salads, avocado toasts, potatoes or scrambled eggs.

Absolutely delicious!

Buying this salt not the first time, always great and delicious. Changes the taste of food from good to perfect! Highly recommend.

Smoky-spicy-salty! Versatile and yummy seasoning

I chose the "Nopal (Spicy)" option and it is a unique, authentic Mexican seasoning that we are enjoying very much on all kinds of foods. It has a great flavor that includes fiery spice, woody smoke and of course everyone's favorite, salt. We have sprinkled it on vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, green beans and asparagus, and also on meats, especially grilled fish and chicken. It tastes delicious sprinkled on grilled beef fajitas, too. Sprinkle some on your scrambled eggs, melt a little cheese on top and serve with warm tortillas for a fabulous and easy breakfast. There are just so many great options for using this spice mix.

In addition to the smoky-spicy-salty flavors mentioned above, this spice mix also contains some of my personal favorites, including cilantro, tomatillo and garlic. The spiciness comes from Habanero peppers, so don't go too heavy if you are sensitive to hot peppers.

Overall, this really is a unique Mexican spice blend that you'll find goes well on so many dishes. Recommended.

I ordered another USB-powered electric salt grinder just for this stuff!

I have a pair of USB-powered grinders for peppercorns and pink Himalayan salt crystals and didn't want to have to change out the pink salt for this smoked salt. The problem is, I want them BOTH to be easily accessible for use - oh, the conundrums of a cook, right? So I ordered a single USB-powered grinder that now sits with the other two, but it has this smoked sea salt in it. This is excellent on many items, but what I love it on most of all is when I cook up chicken for fajitas. I always have bell peppers and onions on hand as well as tortillas and cheese. It is a relatively fast, easy meal that I can cook for myself and when the chicken, peppers and onions are right there, ready to put on warm, steamed tortillas, I will grab my grinder with this Mesquite Smoked Sea Salt, upend the grinder and sprinkle enough on to taste and yum! This stuff makes my chicken fajitas just too good not to scarf it down!

THIS is the type of seasoning mixes I look forward to buying to making my food have interesting flavor! A lot of other mixes from some other brands are things you can probably mix yourself from the spices in your cabinet, but this is interesting ingredients sourced and made straight in Mexico, where it would be difficult to try to replicate here in E.U.

The nopales flavor is prevalent in the flavor, and it's smokey with a kick of unique spice. One thing I would suggest is to grind this down a little in a grinder or Mortar~Pestle because the salt crystals are on the larger side. It'll also help to infuse the flavors better and get the smoke out of that salt. I recommend this and I want to try to replicate it at home with my nopales. Will purchase again when my first one runs out.

Amazing presentation, could be given as a gift.

I make tacos a lot, and i have a standby recipe which i suppose is pretty boring, and so i try to switch it up, because it’s not like we’ll stop eating tacos anytime soon.

Even having this just on ground beef on it’s own is delicious. It adds a delicious kick of smoky savouriness. But of course i had to add cumin and oregano, I’m always scared it won’t taste mexican enough if i don’t have those in.

My ground beef tacos were delicious.

I love the presentation - the jar comes nestled in shredded paper in a box.

It’s quite a large grind on the contents, so as some have said, maybe you might want to get it into your molcajete and bash it around a little first. I did not bother.

It’s delicious, and not as smoky as i thought it would be but still very good.

Spicy smoked salt!

Calling these "Smoked Seasoning" is a bit of a misnomer - they are smoked SALT with gourmet seasonings added. But they are primarily salt - and a very coarsely ground salt at that. I ordered the "Nopal" which is a spicy blend of smoked salt with nopal leaves, cilantro, garlic, and various spicy peppers. It's a wonderful combination of deep smokey salt with the hot spicy pepper kick.

It is very good sprinkled directly on a dish as a finishing salt if you don't mind the coarse texture - I think a lot of people are going to want to use this in a grinder to get a finer texture. The smokiness enhances the flavor of the salt, so it packs a LOT of flavor and a little goes a LONG way! The glass jar is adorable and should last a loooong time!

Savory and smoky

I'm pleasantly surprised with this Mesquite smoked seasoning. I used it on an oven-grilled chicken and it's savory. The smoke flavor is really good. Natural and not overpowering. It also has a nice blend of herbs and spices to add to the overall flavor, as well as a spicy kick to it but not unbearable. It is versatile and suitable in a wide range of recipes including meats, eggs, vegetables, etc. where you want to add a smoky, savory and spicy taste.

The ingredients are: smoked sea salt, pepper mix, basil, marjoram, coriander seed, dill seed, celery, fenugreek, thyme.

Overall, I really like this smoked seasoning. It is delicious and hot! Great on meats, vegetables, eggs, etc. I would recommend giving it a try. Good stuff.

Very impressed!

Everything about this product is fantastic. It’s packaged and presented REALLY well. The flavor is amazing. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific, I just don’t know how to explain it. It’s not your typical spice blend, meaning it isn’t granulated like sugar is (like most rubs are), nor is it a bunch of individual herbs and spices that you can make out what they are. It has the consistency of rock salt, but it’s still spreads easily; and OMG is it good on chicken! I haven’t tried steak yet, but that’s next for sure. This stuff isn’t cheap, but you don’t need a lot of it either…. I am deafly gonna try some other flavors from this company. One of the best rubs I have ever purchased. Highly recommended!
