
Anna - Non-Spicy Mesquite Smoked Sea Salt Flakes
THIS BLEND INCLUDES “ACHIOTE” OR ELSE CALLED "ANNATTO” - AN ORANGE-RED CONDIMENT ALSO USED IN FOOD COLORING DERIVED FROM THE SEEDS OF THE ACHIOTE TREE, NATIVE TO MEXICO. ANNATTO FLAVOR PROFILE IS DESCRIBED AS A BREADY TASTE WITH TOMATO UNDERTONES. THIS SPICE IS VERY COMMON IN MEXICO AND USED IN MANY DISHES INCLUDING SOUPS AND NOODLES OR RICE AND COCHINITA PIBIL - SLOW-ROASTED PORK, MARINATED IN ACIDIC JUICES, WRAPPED IN BANANA LEAVES, AND BAKED IN AN EARTH OVEN. BESIDES ANNATTO THIS BLEND INCLUDES PAPRIKA, BASIL, ONION, AND CUMIN. THIS MIX WILL GO WELL ON ANYTHING AND HAS NO SPICE ADDED.
HOW TO USE: FOR THE BEST FLAVOUR WE RECOMMEND USING A SPICE GRINDER OR CRUSH THE SEASONING IN A MORTAR. YOU CAN SIMPLY SPRINKLE IT ON TOP OF YOUR DISH OR USE IT AS A BASE FOR YOUR SAUCE.
